(Owner | Basecamp East Clinic Manager)
Dr. Bryan Barker is a highly skilled physical therapist with extensive expertise in orthopedic and manual therapy. Originally from South Elgin, Illinois, Bryan earned his Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Angelo State University after completing his undergraduate degree at the University of Wisconsin Madison (Go Badgers!). A lifelong athlete, he competed in cross country and track at the club, Division I, and Division II levels, earning all-conference and all-region honors while also serving as a graduate assistant coach. His passion for running performance led him to become a Road Runners of America Certified Coach.
Following PT school, Bryan advanced his expertise by completing the Benchmark Rehab Institute’s orthopedic residency program, earning his Orthopedic Clinical Specialist (OCS) certification through the American Physical Therapy Association. He then pursued a fellowship in advanced clinical reasoning through the Manual Therapy Institute, achieving the prestigious title of Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapists (FAAOMPT). These achievements, along with his Board Certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist designation and Fellow status with the American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapists, place him among the top specialists in his field.
Beyond patient care, Bryan is deeply committed to professional development and education. He has mentored over twenty physical therapy students, won multiple Clinical Instructor of the Year awards, and was honored with the Dorn Long Outstanding Educator Award by the Texas Consortium for Physical Therapy Clinical Education in 2022. He frequently guest lectures at universities across the country and has developed continuing education courses on manual therapy, chronic pain interventions, and clinical reasoning.
Outside the clinic, Bryan enjoys skiing, hiking, listening to rock and roll, and exploring the craft breweries in the region. His passion for movement, both in his own life and in the lives of his patients, drives his commitment to helping people stay active and perform at their best.
